PROJECT JAVA/WEB

Our client is a well funded and rapidly growing Social Media/Crowd Sourcing product company, with rapidly growing user base, we are looking for Java Developers to be a key part of the team that will take the product to the next level. This is a very hands-on opportunity to join and have an immediate, tangible impact to our client, who are based in the Los Angeles. We have a relatively small team doing a highly scalable and interesting consumer web application that is growing rapidly.

We're seeking a hands-on developer with a broad skill set and understanding of high-transaction web environments.

The technology stack consists of cutting edge technologies, built on Spring MVC running inside Tomcat. Leveraging data sets of millions of entities, we aggregate linked data graphs to expose them to our user base for our platform. Large-scale data processing and the platform go hand in hand as we continue to target structured data sets of value to augment our existing knowledge base. The engineering team is responsible for evolving the high traffic site (multi-million monthly visitors and growing), a distributed app and most importantly large-scale data aggregation. In the near future we will be utilizing exciting technologies like Hadoop / MapReduce to push the limits of how data aggregation can impact a consumer site as well as building out our distributed application framework into multiple verticals. Senior java/web developer

Technical Skills

3-5 years strong experience in developing with object oriented languages
3-5 years developing Java J2EE applications utilizing OO design pattern
Experience with technical architecture and design in a large scale, high throughput environment
Deep expertise in Spring, MySQL, Linux, Tomcat
HTML/CSS/JS/AJAX/JSON
Data architecture experience, SOLR (indexing)

Required Attributes

Proven track record of delivering successful on-time projects
Deep and broad knowledge, understanding of and interested in the Web and its latest trends and business models
Experience working in a SCRUM project lifecycle
Strong work ethic and dedication to deliver on time
Demonstrate knowledge of current software engineering best practices
Strong verbal and communication skills

Strong Pluses

Experience with processing large data sets
Hands on experience with Hadoop, HBase, MapReduce, MongoDB, Hibernate
Experience working with large databases and replication.
Experience working with a globally distributed development team
